Bridging Generations,
Empowering Leaders
From volunteer classroom teaching at age 17 to keynoting international summits in Dubai and consulting with school districts and Fortune 500s.
The child of two educators, I have been rethinking learning since my teenage years working the family farm in the Spokane Valley. My first mentor, a fourth grade teacher, agreed to let me serve as a volunteer teacher at the age of 17. From those first classroom moments, I understood that authentic learning must honor learners.
This volunteer start catalyzed my career. Early in my practice, my commitment to student-centric learning earned me a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Grant (Technology Leadership Project, 2001). My curiosity pushed me to pioneer blended learning, network literacies, and digital collaboration when few schools understood the coming shift.
Today, I have upskilled more than 75,000 educators worldwide, presented at dozens of events globally, and consulted with over 200 school districts. My mission is unwavering: to ensure our schools prepare students for their future, and not our past.
"Sometimes you build your knowledge, and sometimes you have knowledge you have built."
For over 20 years, I traveled the world helping classrooms engage Millennial and Gen Z students. I studied what makes these generations tick—their passions, habits, and definitions of work. When the pandemic hit, corporate leaders were thrust into remote setups, struggling to maintain culture. As I listened to their complaints about "employees today," I realized it sounded identical to the "kids today" debates I had been facilitating in K-12 for decades.
I casually began sharing advice on leading across generations, which exploded into robust consulting engagements. Today's employees are yesterday's students—they haven't changed, and I bring a unique lens to bridging the four generations currently in our workforce.
My business endeavors include co-founding one non-profit, co-founding two technology companies, running a successful consulting and real estate business, consulting with Fortune 500 companies, and living/advising in Saudi Arabia, China, and Thailand.
